Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Strangulation or entanglement with cords, chains or tapes, especially for children and pets.
  • Unit falling if fixings are inadequate or loosen with use.
  • Knocks or finger entrapment when operating blind mechanisms.
  • Trips caused by over-long curtain hems or obstructed window sills.
  • Fire risk or damage if placed near open flames, heaters, radiators or candles.
  • Build-up of dust and moisture that can encourage mould or worsen allergies.

Safe use

  • Install following the manufacturer's instructions and check that the mounting surface supports the product's weight.
  • Keep cords and chains tensioned and secured to the wall with the provided safety devices; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
  • Operate blinds gently, without sharp pulls or sudden twists; if you notice unusual resistance, stop use and inspect.
  • Avoid placing curtains and blinds near heat sources, open flames or candles; leave a safe distance from radiators.
  • Adjust curtain length so they do not drag in walkways to reduce the risk of trips.
  • When installing or cleaning at height, use a stable ladder and keep the area clear; do not stand on chairs or unstable objects.
  • Do not block emergency exits, vents, detectors or access to windows.

Storage and maintenance

  • Dust regularly according to the fabric care instructions; avoid abrasive products and excess water on sensitive materials such as wood or bamboo.
  • Dry completely after washing or spot cleaning to prevent mould and unpleasant odours.
  • Periodically check brackets, screws, tracks, cords and chains; tighten or replace loose or worn parts.
  • Check that chain tensioners and cord cleats are firmly secured and without slack.
  • If you detect tears in the fabric, fraying near the mechanism or deformation, stop using the product until it is repaired or replaced.
  • If storing curtains or blinds, do so clean, dry and protected from dust, avoiding forced creases and weight on top.

Usage restrictions

  • Indoor use unless the manufacturer specifically states otherwise.
  • Do not install accessible cords or chains in children's rooms; prioritise cordless systems in rooms used by children.
  • Do not allow children or pets to play with cords, chains or the curtain/blind itself; supervision is required when they are present.
  • Do not hang from, climb on or use curtains or blinds as support; they may come loose or break.
  • Do not modify the mechanisms or remove safety devices from chains or cords.
  • Do not use the product if the fixings are loose, the fabric is heavily deteriorated or there is visible mould.
