Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Breakage due to impacts or drops, with possible glass shards and cuts.
  • Thermal shock when moving from cold to hot or vice versa, which may cause cracking or sudden breakage.
  • Burns if very hot drinks are served in glasses or stemware not designed for high temperatures.
  • Injuries when handwashing if pressure is applied inside thin-walled glasses or stemware.
  • Spills and falls due to wet surfaces or slippery glasses.
  • Damage when attempting to separate stacked or tightly nested glasses.
  • Breakage from exposure to direct heat sources (hob, oven, grill or flame).

Safe use

  • Check before use: if you notice impact damage, cracks or chipped rims, do not use the product.
  • Use only with drinks at a temperature suitable for the model; if unspecified, avoid very hot liquids.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes: do not pour hot liquid into a cold glass, and do not place a hot glass under cold water.
  • Handle with a firm grip and carry only a few at a time; for stemware, hold by the stem or base to avoid twisting.
  • Do not force jammed glasses; allow them to come to room temperature and separate them carefully, without excessive pressure or twisting.
  • Clean with a soft sponge or a glass brush; avoid forcing your hand into narrow vessels.
  • In the dishwasher, place them spaced apart and securely positioned to avoid contact between pieces; use gentle programmes only if indicated as suitable.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store on sturdy, level shelves, away from the edge. Place glasses and stemware upright.
  • Avoid stacking unless the design allows it; do not force nesting and leave space to prevent jamming.
  • Separate items to minimise knocks and vibration; for transport, use dividers or cushioning material.
  • Dry completely after washing to prevent marks and slippage; do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspect regularly; remove from use any items with micro-cracks, chips or deformation at the rim.
  • Keep away from intense heat sources and prolonged severe thermal changes.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use on hobs, grills, in ovens or over an open flame.
  • Do not use in a microwave or freezer unless expressly stated by the manufacturer.
  • Do not freeze liquids inside the glass unless suitability is specified; expansion on freezing can break the glass.
  • Do not use as a candle holder or for fuels, solvents or other chemicals.
  • Do not use as a toy or leave within reach of children without supervision.
  • Do not attempt to repair broken or chipped glasses or stemware for drinking; dispose of them safely.
