Usage Warnings

Multipurpose Storage Cabinets

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Cabinet tipping due to an unbalanced load, an uneven floor, or opening multiple doors/drawers at once.
  • Finger trapping in doors or hinges, and knocks from edges when closing.
  • Shelves or items falling due to overloading or loose supports.
  • Injuries during assembly due to heavy parts, small fixings and the use of tools.
  • Damage from moisture or heat that may affect stability.
  • Risk to children if they climb, hang from the doors or become trapped inside.
  • Accidental exposure to cleaning products or other stored chemicals.

Safe use

  • Follow the assembly instructions and, if the cabinet is bulky or heavy, assemble it with two people.
  • Anchor the cabinet to the wall if an anti-tip device is included or recommended, and ensure it is level.
  • Distribute the weight: place heavier items on lower shelves and towards the back.
  • Open only one door or drawer at a time and avoid sudden pulls that could destabilise the cabinet.
  • Check that hinges, handles and shelf supports are securely fixed before loading.
  • Keep fingers clear of closing areas and close gently to avoid pinching.
  • Store cleaning products and chemicals in sealed containers and out of reach of children and pets; do not mix substances.
  • Position the cabinet away from heat sources and areas of persistent humidity; leave sufficient space to open doors without knocking into anything.

Storage and maintenance

  • Observe the maximum loads specified by the manufacturer for each shelf and for the unit as a whole.
  • Periodically check screws, fixings, hinges and shelf supports; tighten or replace if loose or damaged.
  • Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth; avoid abrasive products and excess water.
  • Wipe up any spills immediately to prevent warping or mould.
  • If the floor is uneven, use pads or levellers (if supplied) to ensure stability.
  • Air the interior occasionally if storing strong-smelling products.
  • Check the condition of the anti-tip device and the wall fixing after any move or reorganisation.

Usage restrictions

  • Do not use as a ladder, seat, workbench or standing platform.
  • Do not exceed a safe reach height when placing heavy items; avoid lifting them above shoulder height.
  • Do not store flammable, corrosive or pressurised liquids outside their appropriate containers or near heat sources.
  • Do not allow children to play, hang from the doors or become trapped inside the cabinet.
  • Do not move the cabinet when it is fully loaded; partially or completely empty it before moving.
  • Do not modify the structure (drilling, cutting) in a way that could weaken it or interfere with fittings and wall fixings.
