Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Falls of the spice rack or jars due to overloading, inadequate anchoring or unstable surfaces.
- Cuts from broken glass jars or poorly finished metal edges.
- Pinching or trapping of fingers in rotating carousels, drawers or sliding mechanisms.
- Deterioration from heat and steam near hobs or ovens, with risk of burns and adhesives coming unstuck.
- Contamination of the spices due to moisture, food residues or pests; possible mould growth or clumping.
- Risk to children and pets from small parts, magnets or jars within reach.
- Reactions due to cross-contamination of allergens when sharing utensils or mixing spices.
Safe use
- Install following the manufacturer's instructions and use fixings appropriate to the wall type; distribute the weight and observe the maximum capacity.
- For worktop models, place on a level, stable surface; check the non-slip base or add stoppers if necessary.
- Keep the spice rack away from direct heat sources, splashes and steam; allow toasted spices to cool before decanting.
- Seal lids tightly and check their fit before moving the jars; avoid lifting jars by the lid alone if they are not designed for it.
- Rotate carousels gently and keep fingers clear of moving parts.
- Use clean, dry spoons to dispense; label the jars and avoid mixing utensils between spices with and without allergens.
- Wash food-contact parts before first use and avoid abrasive cleaners on interior surfaces.
Storage and maintenance
- Wash and dry jars and lids thoroughly before refilling; moisture promotes mould and clumping.
- Clean the spice rack regularly to remove residues and spills that attract pests.
- Check screws, wall plugs, brackets, magnets or adhesives and tighten or replace if you detect any looseness.
- Replace cracked jars, deformed lids or damaged or worn seals as soon as they are detected.
- Store the spices in a cool, dry place away from direct light to preserve their quality.
- If mounted with adhesive, observe the indicated curing time before adding weight.
- For wooden models, wipe up spills straight away and avoid soaking to prevent warping.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the spice rack as a shelf for pots or other heavy objects, nor for climbing or leaning on.
- Do not hang on unsuitable surfaces without the appropriate fixings; avoid sticking onto uneven or damp walls.
- Do not install directly above the hob or too close to heat sources.
- Do not store hot liquids, chemicals or non-food substances in the jars.
- Do not allow children to handle the spice rack without supervision; keep small parts and magnets out of their reach.
- Do not use the system if it is unstable or has damaged fixings until it has been repaired.
- Do not force drawers, lids or carousels if they are jammed; identify and correct the cause before using them again.
