Safety warnings and precautions
Key risks
- Slips and falls due to wet floors or trailing hems and sleeves.
- Burns or fire when the fabric is brought close to open flames, braziers, fireplaces, candles, hobs or radiators.
- Strangulation or snagging from the belt, belt loops or hood drawstrings, especially in children.
- Skin irritation on sensitive skin due to dyes, detergents or insufficient rinsing.
- Mould and unpleasant odours if stored damp or in unventilated spaces.
- Colour transfer to other garments or surfaces, especially with intense colours during the first few washes.
Safe use
- Choose an appropriate size and fasten the belt without tightening it; avoid ends and hem hanging excessively.
- Avoid cooking, smoking or approaching heat sources while wearing the bathrobe; keep sleeves and hem away from flames.
- Walk carefully on wet floors and avoid running or going up/down stairs with a wet bathrobe.
- Pat your body lightly dry before putting it on to reduce dripping and the risk of slipping.
- For children, supervise use and ensure the belt passes through all belt loops and does not go around the neck; do not cover the face with the hood.
- Avoid it getting caught on knobs, handles or moving mechanisms.
Storage and maintenance
- Follow the care label instructions. Wash intense colours separately the first few times and, if possible, before first use.
- Remove the belt or place it in a laundry bag to prevent tangling; empty pockets before washing.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove detergent residue; frequent use of fabric softener may reduce absorbency.
- Dry completely in a ventilated place or at a low temperature; avoid direct, prolonged contact with heat sources.
- Do not store the bathrobe damp or compressed; hang it on a wide hanger and air the bathroom to prevent mould.
- Check seams, belt loops and cords; trim loose threads and replace the bathrobe if there is wear that could cause snagging.
Restrictions of use
- It is not a flame-retardant or protective garment; do not use it to handle fireplaces, barbecues, ovens or candles.
- Not intended for sleeping in, especially for babies and young children, nor for use inside cots or pushchairs.
- Avoid use if it is excessively long, wide or damaged, as this increases the risk of trips and snags.
- For children, avoid hoods with cords and long belts; keep the belt out of reach when not in use.
- Do not use it as a rug or bath mat.
