Usage Warnings
Vacuum Cleaner Bags
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Release of dust and allergens during installation or removal, or if the bag is damaged or too full, potentially causing respiratory or eye irritation.
- Loss of suction or overheating of the appliance due to blockage if the bag is saturated, damp, or incorrectly fitted.
- Risk of suffocation from plastic bags or wrappers, especially for children and pets.
- Possible minor cuts from rigid collar or component edges when handling the bag.
- Bad odours, mould or bacterial growth if the bag becomes damp.
- Hazards when vacuuming unsuitable materials (liquids, hot ash/soot, very fine construction dust, toner, glass, irritant or toxic substances), which can damage the vacuum cleaner and increase exposure to dust.
Safe use
- Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner before opening the compartment and handling the bag.
- Use bags compatible with your model and fit them in the indicated orientation, ensuring a proper seal at the connection port.
- Replace the bag when the indicator prompts replacement or when suction power decreases; avoid using it until it is completely full.
- Do not reuse disposable bags. If it is reusable, follow the manufacturer's instructions for emptying and reinstallation.
- Do not vacuum liquids, hot debris, embers, or large amounts of very fine dust or potentially hazardous substances; specific equipment is required for those tasks.
- When removing the bag, avoid shaking it. Close its flap or cap if present and place it into another bag for disposal to minimise dust dispersion.
- If you are sensitive to dust or have allergies, make the change in a well-ventilated area and consider using respiratory protection and disposable gloves.
- Wash your hands after handling.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the bags in a cool, dry and clean place, away from moisture, heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Keep them in their original packaging until use and avoid crushing them to prevent deforming the collar or the folds.
- Do not wet or clean disposable bags with water; moisture reduces their strength and impairs dust filtration.
- Regularly check and clean the vacuum cleaner's filters and bag compartment according to the manufacturer's instructions, to prevent blockages.
- For reusable bags, follow the manufacturer's guidelines for cleaning and ensure complete drying before reinstalling them.
- Do not use bags with tears, punctures, deformations, or a persistent musty odour.
Restrictions of use
- Keep out of reach of children and pets. Not a toy.
- Use only with compatible vacuum cleaners and for dry vacuuming, unless expressly indicated otherwise by the manufacturer.
- Do not modify the bag or the adapter, nor force its installation if it does not fit correctly.
- Do not use if the bag is damp or damaged.
- People with asthma or high sensitivity to dust: avoid direct exposure during replacement; preferably have someone else carry it out or use appropriate protection.
- Do not store or handle near food or food preparation areas.
