Usage Warnings
Electric Handheld Mixers and Stirrers
Safety warnings and precautions
Main hazards
- Entanglement with the rotating paddle: fingers, loose gloves, clothing or hair can get caught.
- Sudden twists due to reaction torque and paddle jams that may cause loss of control or wrist injuries.
- Splashes and spatter of mortars, paints, adhesives or resins that may irritate eyes and skin.
- Inhalation of dust or vapours generated during mixing.
- Electric shock risk from damaged cables, wet plugs or sockets, or liquid ingress into the housing.
- Motor overheating due to continuous use or overload, with a burn risk when touching hot areas.
- Prolonged noise and vibration that can cause fatigue and numbness.
- Slips, trips, falls or bucket tip-overs due to poor organisation of the work area.
Safe use
- Before starting, check that the paddle is securely fixed, straight and free from cracks; also verify the condition of the cable, switch and housing.
- Hold the tool with both hands and adopt a stable stance. Keep your body away from the paddle.
- Insert the paddle into the material before starting, begin at low speed and increase gradually to avoid splashes and loss of control.
- Do not force the tool. If the paddle becomes jammed, release the trigger, wait for it to stop, disconnect from the mains, and clear the jam only with the tool stopped.
- Keep the cable away from the paddle and sharp edges. Avoid crushing it with the bucket or other objects.
- Use suitable personal protective equipment: safety goggles or a face shield, snug-fitting gloves, close-fitting clothing, hearing protection, and a mask or respirator appropriate to the material.
- Work in well-ventilated, tidy areas. Avoid sources of ignition when mixing solvent-based products.
- Monitor the tool's temperature during prolonged use and take breaks to prevent overheating.
- Use stable containers of sufficient size for the volume to be mixed; do not overfill.
Storage and maintenance
- Always switch off and unplug before changing the paddle, cleaning or making any adjustment.
- Clean the paddle and the clamping area immediately after use to prevent the material from hardening. Do not immerse the motor housing; clean with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Remove dust residues and ensure the ventilation grilles remain clear. Dry and protect metal surfaces to minimise corrosion.
- Store the tool in a dry place, away from moisture, excessive dust and extreme temperatures. Transport with the paddle removed.
- Coil the cable without straining it or bending it at sharp angles. Do not hang the tool by the cable.
- Periodically inspect the paddle, fixings, cable and plug. If you detect damage, do not use it until the affected parts have been replaced.
Restrictions of use
- Use exclusively for mixing compatible construction materials (paints, mortars, adhesives, resins) with appropriate paddles. Not suitable for food or sanitary use.
- Do not use the tool in the rain, with wet hands or on waterlogged surfaces.
- Do not mix in potentially explosive atmospheres or with flammable liquids or vapours.
- Do not exceed the container capacity or the viscosity recommended by the material or tool manufacturer; if in doubt, prepare smaller batches.
- Do not use incompatible accessories or modify the tool.
- Do not insert hands or objects into the container while the paddle is moving. Keep bystanders away from the work area.
- Do not work on unstable ladders or hold the bucket with your feet.
- Do not leave the tool plugged in unattended, and unplug it when finished.
