Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Falls due to slipping if the seat moves, tips over or folds unexpectedly.
- Detachment due to loose anchors or inadequate fixings on wall-mounted folding models.
- Instability in models with legs due to uneven floors, worn non-slip feet or suction cups with poor adhesion.
- Finger entrapment in hinges or folding mechanisms.
- Injury from exceeding the maximum load or sitting on the edge.
- Cuts or abrasions from cracked surfaces, protruding screws or damaged edges.
- Additional slipping risk due to build-up of soap, limescale or mould around the seat.
Safe use
- Before each use, check that the structure is secure and free from play, cracks or loose parts.
- For folding seats, ensure it is fully deployed and locked before sitting.
- Sit down slowly with your body centred; avoid sudden movements and do not lean on the edge.
- Use grab rails to sit down and stand up when necessary.
- Keep the shower tray clean and free of soap, oils and residues that reduce grip.
- On models with legs or suction cups, check that the feet are clean, in good condition and make full contact.
- Respect the maximum load indicated by the manufacturer and limit use to one person only.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation, adjustments and use of the product.
Storage and maintenance
- Rinse with water and dry after each use to prevent build-up of soap, limescale and persistent moisture.
- Clean periodically with mild products; avoid abrasives, solvents or concentrated bleach.
- Regularly inspect screws, anchors, hinges and surfaces; re-tighten or replace parts as per the manufacturer's guidance.
- Replace worn or missing non-slip feet, caps or suction cups immediately.
- If the model is foldable, operate the mechanism gently and, if permitted by the manufacturer, lightly lubricate the hinges.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or extreme temperatures that could degrade plastics, rubbers and finishes.
- Store portable models in a dry, ventilated place; do not stack heavy objects on top.
Restrictions on use
- Do not use as a step, a platform to stand on or as support for climbing.
- Do not use if it shows cracks, deformation, advanced rust, excessive play or loose parts.
- Do not exceed the maximum load or allow simultaneous use by more than one person.
- Do not modify the product or replace screws or parts with others not specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not install or use on surfaces that cannot bear the load or that have excessive gradients.
- Children and people with unstable balance or very limited mobility must use it under appropriate supervision.
- Do not use together with loose mats or other items that compromise the stability of the seat.
