Usage Warnings
Bath Spouts
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Burns from water that is too hot or sudden temperature changes when turning the tap on.
- Slips and falls due to water splashes on the floor while filling the bath.
- Leaks and drips that may cause damp and damage to walls, floors and furniture.
- Bumps when getting in or out of the bath due to the protruding spout.
- Minor cuts or pinches when handling metal parts and tools during installation or adjustment.
- Unexpected splashing and a deflected stream caused by limescale or dirt build-up at the outlet.
Safe use
- Check the water temperature with your hand before directing the stream towards your body or children.
- Open and close the tap gradually to avoid sudden changes and splashes.
- Do not lean on or hang towels or objects from the spout; do not use it as a grab handle.
- Wipe up any water spilled on the floor immediately to reduce the risk of slipping.
- Keep the spout outlet free of obstructions and remove limescale with a soft cloth to prevent splashing.
- During installation or any adjustment, shut off the water supply and handle with care; keep small parts out of the reach of children.
- If the spout includes a diverter, operate it without forcing; if it offers unusual resistance, check it before proceeding.
Storage and maintenance
- Before installation, keep the spout in its packaging, in a dry place protected from impacts and dust.
- Periodically check the fixings and visible connections; if you notice leaks or looseness, turn off the water and resolve the issue before use.
- Clean with water and mild, pH-neutral soap; avoid scouring pads and abrasive, acidic or chlorine-based products that may damage the finish.
- Remove limescale build-up from the outlet periodically with suitable products and rinse thoroughly.
- After cleaning or any intervention, check that there are no drips and that the stream is even and does not splash.
- Ensure good bathroom ventilation to minimise condensation and mould around the spout area.
Restrictions of use
- For use with mains water only; not suitable for other liquids, oils or chemicals.
- Designed for indoor use; do not install outdoors or in highly corrosive environments unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not modify the spout or replace parts with incompatible ones; do not drill or add unspecified accessories.
- Do not cover or obstruct the spout outlet with plugs, hoses or other items.
- Children, older people or those with thermal sensitivity must use it under supervision, with temperature and flow controlled.
- If you have no plumbing experience, consider using a qualified installer to avoid leaks and water damage.
