Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Electric shock from contact with live parts, exposed terminals or damaged cables.
- Fire or overheating due to short circuits, overloads or obstructed ventilation of the control panel.
- Damage to the pump or the installation due to incorrect wiring or improper settings of protective devices and sensors.
- Unexpected automatic starts of the pump that may endanger anyone working on the pump or pipework.
- Deterioration due to humidity, condensation or water ingress that reduces insulation and causes faults.
- Impacts or drops of the equipment during handling or installation at height.
Safe use
- Installation and electrical connection must be carried out only by qualified personnel. Disconnect the supply before opening or working on the control panel.
- Verify electrical compatibility with the pump and accessories (voltage, power and current). Do not connect loads higher than those specified by the manufacturer.
- Ensure proper earthing and the presence of adequate protection against overloads and earth leakage on the supply line.
- Install the control panel on a firm, accessible, ventilated surface and away from direct splashes. Keep covers closed and cable glands properly tightened.
- Do not disable or bypass protective devices, sensors, pressure switches or alarms. If the equipment includes dry-run or overload shutdown functions, keep them enabled and operational.
- Provide signage indicating that the system may start automatically, and ensure an accessible main isolator before working on the pump or the pipework.
- After commissioning, observe several cycles to detect trips, abnormal noises, overheating or unusual odours. Stop and investigate any anomaly.
Storage and maintenance
- Store in a dry, clean and ventilated place, away from moisture, dust, vibrations and sources of heat or corrosive agents.
- Transport and handle with care to avoid impacts and drops. Do not stack in a way that deforms the enclosure.
- Before any maintenance, isolate the supply, verify absence of voltage and wait a few minutes if the equipment contains capacitors.
- Carry out periodic checks of terminal tightness, condition of cables, cable glands and enclosure. Check for the absence of overheating, burning odours, moisture or corrosion.
- Periodically test the correct operation of associated float switches, pressure switches and sensors, safely simulating stop or alarm conditions.
- Clean the interior and exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure water, conductive aerosols or aggressive solvents.
- Replace deteriorated components with equivalent and compatible spare parts. Do not reuse fuses or damaged cables.
Restrictions on use
- Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres or for applications with flammable liquids or aggressive vapours, unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not install outdoors without suitable additional protection, unless it is expressly stated that the control panel is suitable for outdoor use.
- Do not exceed the maximum current and power ratings specified for the control panel and the connected pump.
- Do not modify the interior, bridge circuits, or drill holes that compromise sealing or ventilation.
- Do not use the equipment if there are cracks in the enclosure, missing screws, damaged cable glands, exposed conductors or signs of internal moisture.
- Keep out of the reach of children and untrained persons. Do not allow interventions by unqualified personnel.
