Main risks
- Electric shock or fire from damaged leads, improper plugs/sockets or overloading.
- Entrapment and suffocation, especially of children, due to door closure or playing inside the appliance.
- Tipping or impacts during moving or installation of the appliance.
- Cuts or injuries from glass shelves, edges, broken parts or ice.
- Cold burns when touching freezer surfaces or ice for a prolonged period.
- Food spoilage and food safety risks due to improper temperature or power failures.
- Water leaks or condensation that may cause slips and floor damage.
- Compressor overheating due to poor rear or lower ventilation.
- Unusual odours or noises and possible refrigerant leakage, with a risk of flammability.
Safe use
- Place the fridge on a firm, level surface, leaving space for ventilation and away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
- Connect to an earthed socket. Avoid multi-plug adaptors, extension leads and loose plugs. Do not pinch or bend the cable.
- After transport, allow the appliance to stand upright for a suitable period before plugging it in.
- Do not cover the grilles or block the internal air outlets. Do not overload shelves or doors.
- Place food in sealed containers and allow very hot dishes to cool slightly before storing.
- Set appropriate temperatures: fridge around 3–5 °C and freezer about −18 °C. Use a thermometer if you consider it necessary.
- Open the doors for as little time as possible and check that the seals close properly.
- Use drinking water for the dispenser or ice maker and check for possible drips or leaks at the connections.
- If you notice a burning smell, sparks, smoke, or an unusual odour/noise, unplug if safe to do so, ventilate the area and request technical service.
Storage and maintenance
- Keep the grilles and the rear/lower area free of dust; clean periodically with the appliance unplugged.
- Clean the interior with warm water and mild soap; avoid solvents, abrasives and metal scouring pads.
- Wipe up spills promptly to prevent mould and odours. Check and clean the door seals.
- If your model is not frost-free, defrost when there is a noticeable layer of ice. Do not use sharp objects or direct-heat appliances.
- Replace water filters at the recommended intervals when fitted.
- For prolonged absences or when out of use: empty, clean and leave the door ajar to prevent bad odours.
- To move it, empty the contents, secure the shelves and transport it upright to protect the refrigeration system.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the fridge outdoors, in vehicles or in environments with high humidity/extreme temperatures unless the model is designed for it.
- Do not store flammable liquids, pressurised aerosols or volatile chemicals inside.
- Do not stand or sit on doors, drawers or shelves. Do not use the top as a step or support.
- Do not allow children to play with the doors or hide inside; use child locks if available.
- Do not drill internal walls or the casing. Do not tamper with thermostats, pipes or internal components.
- Do not cover or enclose the rear with furniture that impedes ventilation.
- When removing or disposing of the appliance, remove the doors or secure the door closure to prevent entrapment.
