Main risks
- Tipping or slipping on uneven, soft (grass) or wet surfaces.
- Collapse due to overloading or improper use (standing on it, rocking).
- Pinching or entrapment at hinges and folding or reclining mechanisms.
- Very hot surfaces from sun exposure or very cold in winter, with a risk of contact burns.
- Weathering (rain, sun, salt air or frost) that can weaken the structure.
- Stacked chairs toppling or impacts during handling.
- Movement due to gusts of wind that may cause impacts or tip-overs.
- Risk of fire or burns if placed near barbecues, heaters or embers, especially with cushions and textiles.
Safe use
- Place chairs on a firm, level and stable surface, away from edges and drops.
- Before sitting down, check stability and, where applicable, lock any folding or reclining mechanisms.
- Observe the load limit and intended use: one person per seat.
- Do not use the chair as a ladder or platform; avoid standing on it or rocking on two legs.
- Keep hands and fingers away from hinges and pivot points when folding or unfolding.
- Dry the seat and support area if there is water, snow or ice to reduce slipping.
- On hot days, check the temperature of sun-exposed surfaces; use cushions or towels if necessary.
- Keep your distance from barbecues, fireplaces and other sources of heat or flame.
- To move them, lift them by the designated grip points and avoid dragging.
- If stackable, stack in an aligned and stable manner, avoiding leaving tall stacks in walkways.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean regularly with water and mild soap; avoid abrasive, chlorinated or strong solvents.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning or rain to prevent corrosion, mould and odours.
- Periodically check screws, joints, rivets and end caps/feet; retighten or replace worn parts.
- Stop using if you detect cracks, looseness, deformations, breaks or penetrating rust.
- Protect with breathable covers and store under cover in winter, storms or strong winds; secure stacks if necessary.
- In coastal areas, rinse with fresh water to remove salt and reduce corrosion.
- Store cushions and textiles in a dry, ventilated place, ensuring they are completely dry before storing.
- Follow the manufacturer’s specific instructions for care and compatible spare parts.
Usage restrictions
- Not toys or exercise equipment; prevent children from climbing on or playing with stacks of chairs.
- Supervise children near folding or reclining chairs and keep their hands away from the hinges.
- Do not modify the structure or replace parts with unauthorised parts; do not use the chair if components are missing or it is damaged.
- Do not exceed the number of units stacked recommended by the manufacturer, nor stack in strong wind or when they are wet.
- Do not sit on armrests or backrests, nor hang weight from them.
- Avoid use near swimming pools without first drying the seat and surroundings; take extra care on wet surfaces.
- Do not transport seated people while moving the chair.
