Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Unit tipping due to excessive load, an off-centre TV, or opening drawers/doors simultaneously.
- Finger trapping in hinges, doors or drawers that slam shut.
- Breakage of shelves or panels (especially glass) due to overloading or impacts to the edges.
- Overheating of electronic equipment if placed in compartments without adequate ventilation.
- Damage to cables from pinching in cable ports, doors, or when moving the unit.
- Instability on uneven floors or lack of wall anchoring where recommended.
- Falls and injuries when assembling or moving heavy parts without adequate assistance.
- Liquid spills that may damage the unit and reach nearby electrical connections.
Safe use
- Observe the load capacity specified by the manufacturer for the top panel and each shelf. Place the TV centred with its base fully supported.
- Install the unit on a level surface; adjust the levelling feet if provided and check stability before placing the TV.
- Use anti-tip devices or wall anchors if supplied or recommended for the model.
- Allow ventilation space around consoles, set-top boxes and extension leads; avoid keeping doors closed if the devices get hot.
- Route cables through the designated cable ports without forcing or crushing them, and keep them out of walkways to prevent trips.
- Open and close doors and drawers gently, one at a time, without using them for support or as steps.
- Handle glass shelves or doors with care; do not strike the edges, and remove the product from use if you detect cracks or chips.
- During assembly, follow the manufacturer’s instructions, use the supplied fittings, and ask for help to lift or turn the unit.
- Keep a distance from direct heat sources and areas of high humidity.
- If the unit has castors, lock them once positioned.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry afterwards; avoid abrasive, solvent-based or ammonia-based products.
- Wipe up spills immediately and use coasters or protectors to prevent heat or moisture marks.
- Remove dust from grilles, slots and cable pass-through areas to aid equipment ventilation.
- Periodically check screws, hinges, handles and wall anchors; re-tighten or replace damaged parts if necessary.
- Inspect shelves and panels (wood or glass) and replace them if they show cracks, warping or looseness.
- To move the unit, empty the contents and remove the TV; lift with two people and avoid dragging it to prevent damage to the structure or the floor.
- Protect surfaces with mats or soft pads when placing heavy or sharp-edged objects.
- If storing, place it in a dry, ventilated area, raised off the floor if there is a risk of damp, and cover it with a breathable cover.
Restrictions on use
- For use only in dry indoor environments; not suitable for outdoors or areas exposed to water.
- Do not use as a seat, step, workbench or support for people.
- Do not place equipment or objects that exceed the recommended weight or size for the top panel or the shelves.
- Do not modify the structure or drill the unit or the top panel for additional mounts without the manufacturer’s guidance.
- Do not cover grilles or openings intended for cable routing and ventilation; avoid overloading extension leads inside closed compartments.
- Avoid placing direct heat sources, lit candles without a protective base, or devices that vibrate heavily on the unit.
- Prevent children from climbing on the unit or TV; where applicable, use anti-tip devices and supervise use.
- Do not use damaged glass shelves, and do not continue using the unit if it is unstable until the issue has been corrected.
