Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls or loss of control due to poorly installed, loose or incompatible parts (brakes, handlebars, mudguards, mounts, lights).
  • Reduced braking performance or wheel lock-up due to incorrect adjustment or wear of pads, blocks or rotors.
  • Punctures or blowouts due to inadequate pressure or incorrect fitting of tyres and inner tubes, and damage to rims or valves.
  • Injuries from cuts, pinches or impacts during installation and tool use.
  • Electrical hazards, overheating or fire involving batteries, chargers, lights and wiring that are damaged or misused.
  • Accidental ingestion of button batteries and exposure to irritants from lubricants, sealants and adhesives.
  • Interference with medical devices and pinching hazards when handling mounts with strong magnets.
  • Loss of visibility or detachment of accessories that may get caught in wheels or brakes.
  • Instability due to poorly secured loads or overloading of baskets, racks or mounts.
  • Slips due to spills of oils or sealants on the vehicle or floor.

Safe use

  • Check compatibility with your vehicle (dimensions, mounting type and, where applicable, electrical requirements) before fitting.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions and observe the specified assembly order.
  • Use appropriate tools; do not force threads, and check tightening torque without overtightening.
  • Keep cables and straps away from wheels, drivetrain and brakes; secure them so they do not hang loose.
  • When inflating, use a pressure gauge and adhere to the recommended pressure; confirm that the valve is the correct type.
  • After any adjustment or replacement, carry out a short, low-speed test and check steering and braking.
  • Immediately replace parts with cracks, excess play, sharp edges, severe rust or visible wear.
  • For electrical components, do not use or charge them if they show signs of impact, swelling, unusual odour or damaged wiring.
  • Charge on firm, non-combustible, well-ventilated surfaces; do not cover batteries or chargers.
  • Keep button batteries and small parts out of the reach of children and pets; close compartments securely.
  • Handle magnets with care and keep them away from magnetic cards and implanted medical devices.
  • Distribute the load symmetrically and secure it so it does not move or protrude.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store accessories in a dry, cool and ventilated place, away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Keep batteries and chargers away from flammable materials; store batteries partially charged and check them periodically.
  • Unplug chargers when not in use; do not store cables excessively bent or with damaged connectors.
  • Store tyres and inner tubes without load that could deform them, and away from oils, solvents or ozone.
  • Keep containers of lubricants, adhesives and sealants tightly closed; store them out of reach of children and pets.
  • Clean and dry parts before fitting to prevent corrosion and ensure proper seating.
  • Frequently check fasteners, brakes, cables, reflectors and lights; tighten or replace if you detect play or wear.
  • Dispose of cells and batteries at designated collection points to reduce risks in the home.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not fit or use parts that are damaged, deformed, have stripped threads or frayed or exposed wires.
  • Do not mix incompatible components or modify critical systems (brakes, steering, folding mechanism) or the original wiring.
  • Do not charge batteries unattended for extended periods or overnight; do not use them if they have become wet or suffered a heavy impact.
  • Do not exceed the stated capacity of racks, phone mounts or baskets; avoid loads that protrude or can snag.
  • Do not fit accessories that obstruct lights, reflectors, the bell or handlebar rotation.
  • Do not use solvents or cleaners that degrade plastics, rubber or the vehicle's paintwork.
  • Do not allow children to handle batteries, chargers, lights with button batteries, tools or small parts.
  • Do not carry children without equipment specifically designed for that purpose and correctly installed.
  • If you lack experience, avoid working on brakes, steering or electrical systems; they require specific skills and precise assembly.
  • Do not reuse single-use items (clips, pins, structural adhesives) when the manufacturer specifies their replacement.
