Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Burns from contact with hot plates, lids and grease; splashes and steam when opening.
- Fire due to proximity to combustible materials or grease build-up; increased risk if left unattended.
- Electric shock from moisture, spills, a damaged cable or plug, or by immersing non-removable parts in liquid.
- Appliance tipping or falling from unstable surfaces or from pulling the cable, with possible spillage of hot grease.
- Smoke and strong odours in poorly ventilated spaces.
- Overheating if surfaces are covered or the vents and drip tray are blocked.
Safe use
- Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, leaving clear space around and above it.
- Keep it away from curtains, paper, plastics and other materials that may catch fire.
- Connect to a suitable mains socket; avoid overloaded extension leads, loose adaptors and coiled cables.
- Ensure the appliance and your hands are dry; do not use it in damp areas or with spills nearby.
- Check the cable and plug before each use; if damaged, do not use it.
- Secure the drip tray and empty it when cool; do not add water to grease or pour it away while hot.
- Open carefully to avoid steam burns; use oven gloves or heat-resistant mitts and long-handled utensils.
- Do not move the appliance while running or hot; do not cover the cooking surface or the ventilation slots.
- Apply oil sparingly and avoid aerosol sprays near hot surfaces.
- Keep the cable away from the edge, from walkways and from hot surfaces.
Storage and maintenance
- Unplug and allow to cool completely before cleaning or storing.
- Remove food and grease residues after each use to reduce smoke and fire risk.
- Clean with a soft cloth or sponge; avoid metal scouring pads and abrasive cleaners that may damage the surface.
- Do not immerse the base or electrical components; wash only removable parts designed for this purpose and dry them thoroughly.
- Periodically check the non-slip feet, hinges and tray; replace worn parts following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Coil the cable without straining or pinching it and store in a clean, dry place; do not place heavy objects on top of the appliance.
- If you notice an unusual burning smell, sparks or abnormal cable heating, stop using it and contact an authorised service centre.
Restrictions of use
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets; use only under the supervision of a responsible adult.
- Do not use it outdoors in rain or damp conditions or near sinks, baths or other sources of water.
- Do not use it in spaces without sufficient ventilation or directly under low cupboards.
- Do not use external timers, smart plugs or remote controls unless expressly specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not place it on hobs, hot ovens or fabric surfaces.
- Do not insert objects into vents or internal parts, or attempt to tamper with or repair the interior.
- Do not cover it with cloths, aluminium foil or other accessories not designed for the model.
