Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Burns from splashes of hot oil or from steam when opening the lid or drawer.
- Fire or overheating due to excess oil, blocked air outlets, or proximity to flammable materials.
- Electric shock from the appliance or plug coming into contact with water, or from damaged cables.
- Tipping or spillage when moving the fryer with hot contents.
- Very hot surfaces, basket and trays that can cause burns when touched.
- In oil models: violent splattering if water, ice or very moist foods enter; smoke from degraded oil.
Safe use
- Place the fryer on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, with clear space around it and away from the edge.
- Dry foods thoroughly before inserting. Lower the basket or slide the drawer in slowly to minimise splashes and steam.
- In oil models: do not exceed the fill marks; do not add water, ice or alcoholic liquids; do not seal tightly while heating.
- Do not leave the appliance operating unattended. Pay particular attention during initial heating.
- Use heat-resistant gloves or long-handled utensils. Open the lid or drawer away from your face to avoid a blast of steam.
- Do not move, empty or carry the fryer while it is hot. Unplug and allow to cool before handling or cleaning.
- Keep the cable away from edges and hot surfaces. Plug into a suitable socket and avoid overloaded multi-socket adaptors or damaged extension leads.
- If the oil ignites, unplug if safe and cover the container to smother the flame. Never use water.
- In air fryer models: do not block air inlets or outlets. Do not use papers or liners unless specified by the manufacturer.
Storage and maintenance
- Allow to cool completely before moving or cleaning. Drain oil only when cold.
- Strain and store the oil in a sealed container or take it to a collection point; do not pour it down the drain.
- Clean trays, baskets and interior surfaces to prevent build-up of grease and burnt residues. Dry thoroughly before reassembling.
- Keep grilles and air outlets free of grease. Replace or clean filters as appropriate.
- Check the cable and plug periodically; do not use the appliance if you notice damage, deformation or cracks.
- Store in a dry, ventilated place and out of reach of children. Avoid placing heavy objects on top.
- In oil models: replace the oil if it smokes prematurely, smells rancid or is very dark.
Usage restrictions
- For indoor use on suitable worktops; do not use outdoors in exposed areas or inside enclosed cabinets.
- Keep the fryer away from curtains, aerosols, paper and other ignition sources or flammable materials.
- Do not immerse the appliance body or the cable in water, and do not handle it with wet hands.
- Do not use accessories, liners or utensils not intended for your model; avoid spraying oil onto the heating element.
- Keep children and pets away during use and while the appliance cools down. Adult supervision is required at all times.
- Do not use the fryer if it emits unusual smoke, abnormal crackling or a burning smell; unplug and allow to cool before inspecting.
