Safety warnings and precautions
Key risks
- Contact with hot surfaces and jars at the end of the cycle, with a possible risk of minor burns.
- Spills or splashes of warm/hot milk during filling, which may cause slips or burns.
- Risk of electric shock if the base, cable or plug comes into contact with water or wet hands.
- Breakage of glass jars with a risk of cuts.
- Food contamination due to inadequate hygiene of containers or delayed refrigeration of the yoghurt.
- The appliance or jars may fall if placed near the edge or on unstable surfaces.
- Overheating due to covering the yoghurt maker or blocking its ventilation during use.
- Allergic reactions due to residues of other foods in reused jars.
Safe use
- Place the yoghurt maker on a flat, dry, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge and from sources of water.
- Use compatible containers in good condition; avoid cracked jars and deformed lids.
- Keep hands and the work surface dry before plugging in; avoid taut or trailing leads across walkways.
- Do not overfill the jars; leave a small gap to prevent overflow.
- Do not move the appliance while in operation and avoid covering it with cloths or other objects.
- When finished, unplug, allow to cool for a few minutes, and handle the jars with a dry cloth.
- Take extra care with hygiene: thoroughly clean jars, lids and utensils before each use, and use fresh ingredients.
- If heating the milk separately, allow it to cool to lukewarm before pouring to avoid burns and thermal shock to the glass.
- Refrigerate the finished yoghurt as soon as possible and consume it within a reasonable time.
Storage and maintenance
- Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning or moving the yoghurt maker.
- Do not immerse the base or expose it to running water; clean with a slightly damp cloth and dry afterwards.
- Wash jars and lids after each use with hot water and detergent; rinse and dry thoroughly before storing.
- Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh products on food-contact surfaces.
- Frequently check the cable, plug, base, jars and lids; replace parts that are damaged, cracked or have persistent odours.
- Store the appliance and jars in a clean, dry, ventilated place, protected from impacts and sudden temperature changes.
- Keep the cable free from kinks and strain; do not wind it excessively tightly.
- If you are not going to use it for a while, clean the jars and store them completely dry.
Usage restrictions
- For indoor domestic use; do not use outdoors or in damp areas such as near sinks or in bathrooms.
- Keep out of reach of children; use must be under adult supervision.
- Do not use with extension leads or overloaded multi-socket adaptors; plug into a socket in good condition.
- Do not operate the yoghurt maker empty or with empty containers.
- Do not cover the appliance or place it inside closed cupboards during operation.
- Do not use containers that are not food-safe or accessories not designed for this model.

- People with reduced mobility, thermal sensitivity or limited experience should only use it under supervision.
