Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Electric shock or short circuits due to moisture, incorrect connections or damaged cables.
  • Overheating and risk of fire if the grille or duct is obstructed.
  • Water damage and condensation if water enters directly or if air is not properly vented to the outside.
  • Injury from contact with moving blades or sharp edges when handling the unit.
  • Falls and impacts during installation at height or when drilling.
  • Vibration and excessive noise due to poor fixing, which may loosen nearby components.
  • Deterioration of air quality and mould growth if the extraction airflow is insufficient.

Safe use

  • Read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Check compatibility with the installation location (bathroom wet zone) before fitting.
  • Isolate the power at the consumer unit before installing, cleaning or handling the extractor fan.
  • Avoid direct exposure to water jets and splashes. Use only models rated for bathroom wet areas.
  • Use fixings appropriate to the wall or ceiling type and mount the unit on a stable, level surface.
  • Do not obstruct the grille or the air outlet. Keep the surrounding area clear to allow ventilation.
  • Duct the extracted air to an approved and safe point outdoors; do not discharge into enclosed spaces or false ceilings.
  • Before drilling, check there are no cables or pipes in the work area.
  • Do not spray flammable aerosols or use solvents near the extractor while it is operating.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store the product, uninstalled, in a dry, ventilated place, protected from impacts. Keep the packaging to protect the grille and blades.
  • Always disconnect the power before any cleaning or inspection.
  • Regularly remove dust and lint from the grille and accessible areas with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid high-pressure water and abrasive products.
  • If the model includes filters, check and clean or replace them as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Regularly check for abnormal vibration, loose screws or unusual noises; correct and re-tighten if necessary.
  • Ensure the exhaust duct is not kinked or obstructed to maintain correct airflow.
  • If the unit has become wet, allow it to dry completely before reconnecting.

Restrictions on use

  • Not suitable for extracting cooking fumes, grease, combustion vapours, or corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
  • Do not cover or block the grille or air outlet with towels or other objects.
  • Do not use outdoors, or within the shower or bath area, unless the model expressly permits it and it is located in the correct zone.
  • Do not modify the appliance or its connections. Do not use if it shows signs of impact, a cracked casing, exposed wires, or a burning smell.
  • Installation and maintenance by adults with basic electrical knowledge only; keep out of reach of children and do not allow them to play with the unit.
  • Do not share ducts with chimneys or other combustion systems.
  • Avoid prolonged continuous operation unless specified by the manufacturer.
