Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Steam burns when opening containers or removing lids, and from very hot interior surfaces and containers.
  • Superheating of liquids, with possible sudden boiling when the cup is moved or a spoon is inserted.
  • Bursting of foods with skins or shells (potatoes, sausages, whole eggs) and of hermetically sealed containers.
  • Fire or smoke due to overheating of food, use of unsuitable containers, or the presence of flammable materials.
  • Sparks (arcing) when inserting metal, crumpled aluminium foil or crockery with metallic rims.
  • Risk of electric shock from a damaged cable or plug, moisture, or splashes on electrical parts.
  • The appliance tipping or falling if placed on unstable surfaces or handled while operating.

Safe use

  • Place the microwave on a firm, level surface, leaving space for ventilation and without blocking the vents.
  • Use only containers clearly marked as microwave-safe and with no metal parts; avoid sealed lids. Uncover or leave a small opening.
  • Do not put metal or crumpled aluminium foil inside. If you observe sparks, stop the appliance immediately and remove the object causing them once it is cool.
  • Do not run it empty. Check that the turntable is properly positioned and rotates freely.
  • For liquids, heat in short intervals, stir between pauses and let stand for a few seconds before removing. Check the temperature before drinking or serving.
  • Pierce or slightly open foods with a skin or membrane to prevent bursting.
  • Cover food with a microwave-safe lid to reduce splashes and promote more even heating.
  • Avoid excessive times and do not leave unattended during prolonged heating. If there is smoke or a strong burning smell, stop the process and ventilate the room.
  • When removing hot containers, use oven gloves and keep your face and hands away from the steam.

Storage and maintenance

  • Place the appliance in a dry, stable location, away from sources of heat, moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Unplug before cleaning. Do not wet or immerse it; clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • Remove splashes from the cavity and the turntable after each use to prevent carbonisation, odours and risk of fire.
  • Avoid abrasive products or utensils that may scratch the interior, the door or the panel.
  • Keep the vents and ventilation openings free of dust and unobstructed.
  • Regularly check the cable, plug, hinges, latch and door seals. If they are damaged or do not close properly, do not use the appliance.
  • Internal repairs and replacement of parts must be carried out only by qualified service technicians.

Usage restrictions

  • For indoor use and in dry environments. Keep the microwave away from flammable materials, aerosols and curtains.
  • Do not connect the appliance to overloaded power strips or extension leads; plug it into a suitable and accessible socket.
  • Do not dry clothes, sponges or non-food items. Avoid heating plastic or paper containers that are not labelled as microwave-safe.
  • Do not heat closed bottles or jars. Shake or stir and always test the temperature before feeding a baby.
  • Do not use the microwave if the door does not close properly, is deformed or shows gaps in the seal.
  • Keep children away from the front area during operation and supervise use by children or by persons with reduced mobility or abilities.
  • Do not cover the top or the vents with cloths, wrappings or objects during use or cooling.
