Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Burns to the skin or scalp from excessive heat or contact with hot surfaces.
  • Steam scalds when opening the reservoir or bringing hands and face close to the steam outlet.
  • Hair damage or dehydration due to unsuitable times or temperatures.
  • Electrical risk from moisture, splashes, damaged cables or faulty plugs.
  • Equipment tipping or pinching when adjusting height and tilt; knocks when moving wheeled bases.
  • Obstruction of grilles or air outlets that may cause overheating.
  • Condensation and dripping that may leave the floor slippery.
  • Respiratory discomfort or dizziness from exposure to hot steam or added fragrances.

Safe use

  • Place the equipment on a stable surface and, if it has wheels, lock the castors before use.
  • Check the cable, plug, housing and reservoir; do not use the equipment if it shows damage or a burning smell.
  • Adjust height, tilt and distance so the hood does not touch the skin; leave space for air circulation.
  • Start with moderate temperature and time; increase only if comfortable. Use a timer and supervise throughout the session.
  • For steamers, fill with clean water without exceeding the mark; do not add oils or essences unless indicated by the manufacturer. Keep hands and face away from the jet of steam.
  • Wait for the equipment to cool down before opening or emptying the reservoir; open slowly to release pressure.
  • Keep the cable untangled, dry and away from wash basins and walkways to avoid trips.
  • Do not cover the hood or grilles with towels, sealed plastic caps or objects that block airflow.
  • Stop use if you feel a burning sensation, intense itching, dizziness or difficulty breathing.
  • Clean and disinfect the contact area of the hood between users.

Storage and maintenance

  • Unplug and allow to cool completely before moving, cleaning or covering the equipment.
  • Empty and dry the reservoir after use; descale periodically if limescale builds up and use low-mineral water where appropriate.
  • Clean hood, grilles and housing with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive products and dry thoroughly.
  • Keep filters and air outlets free of dust where fitted.
  • Regularly check castors, brakes, screws and joints; do not use the equipment if any part is loose or damaged.
  • Store in a dry, well-ventilated place, protected from dust and away from sources of heat or moisture.
  • Coil the cable without straining it and without trapping it under the base.

Restrictions of use

  • For indoor use on level surfaces; do not use outdoors or in very humid areas such as showers.
  • Not suitable for drying clothes, towels or other objects.
  • Do not operate near flammable aerosols, solvents or sources of ignition.
  • Do not move the equipment by pulling the column or the cable while it is operating.
  • Do not leave the equipment running unattended.
  • Do not allow use by children; people with reduced mobility, heat sensitivity or communication difficulties require constant supervision.
  • Avoid use on broken skin, sunburn, active scalp infections, or after procedures where heat or steam is contraindicated; follow the warnings on hair products.
  • Avoid poor-quality or overloaded adapters or extension leads; connect to a socket in good condition and accessible so you can disconnect quickly.
  • Stop use if you notice unusual noises, vibration or temperatures.
