Usage Warnings
High Chairs and Boosters
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Falls due to the highchair or booster tipping over, or the child slipping if not restrained.
- Finger trapping when folding, adjusting positions, or attaching/removing the tray.
- Entanglement with loose straps and with nearby cords, curtains or cables.
- Booster tipping over if the base chair is unstable, lightweight, swivels or has wheels.
- Burns from very hot drinks or food, or from pulling at tablecloths and cables within reach.
- Injury if placed near edges, stairs, open windows or other elevated areas.
- Ingestion or choking if small parts, end caps or decorative covers come loose.
Safe use
- Assemble and adjust the product following the manufacturer’s instructions, and check all locks before each use.
- Always use the seat restraint system correctly adjusted; the tray is not a substitute for the harness.
- Keep the child seated; do not allow them to stand, climb or lean out of the seat.
- Place the highchair on a firm, level floor; if it has wheels, keep them locked.
- Prevent the child from pushing with their feet against the table or wall, which can cause tipping.
- For boosters: secure the straps to the seat and backrest of a sturdy chair with flat back and seat; tighten so there is no slack.
- Do not use boosters on tables, worktops, stools, benches, lightweight folding chairs, swivel chairs or chairs with wheels.
- Do not place cushions, blankets or other items between the booster and the base chair.
- Keep tablecloths, cables, heavy, sharp or hot objects out of reach.
- Do not hang handbags, coats or other heavy items from the back of the chair holding the booster.
Storage and maintenance
- Regularly check screws, rivets, straps, buckles and anchor points; do not use the product if there are loose parts, damage or excessive wear.
- Clean up food and liquid spills after each use and dry straps and covers thoroughly to prevent slipping, mould or odours.
- When folding or unfolding, keep your hands and the child’s away from hinges and guides.
- Store the highchair or booster in a dry, stable place and out of reach of children when not in use.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat sources that may damage plastics and fabrics.
- If using a booster, periodically check the condition and stability of the base chair (legs level and non-slip feet in good condition).
Usage restrictions
- Always use under adult supervision and with only one child at a time.
- Begin using the highchair when the baby can sit unaided with stability. Boosters are intended for children who can sit securely and reach the table.
- Observe the weight, height and age limits specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not move or lift the highchair with the child seated.
- Do not use highchairs or boosters as a vehicle seat, bouncer, cot or step.
- Do not use the product if parts are missing, if the restraint system does not fasten correctly, or if the base chair (for boosters) is damaged or unstable.
