Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls due to loss of balance, bumps or kerbs.
  • Collisions with pedestrians, street furniture or other obstacles.
  • Skidding on wet surfaces, sand or gravel.
  • Fingers getting trapped in the folding mechanism or near the wheels.
  • Loss of control on slopes or at a speed unsuitable for the child.
  • Injuries from riding without a helmet and protective gear.
  • Minor burns from touching the brake or mudguard after prolonged braking.
  • Laces or loose clothing getting caught in the wheels or deck.

Safe use

  • Wear a helmet and appropriate protective gear (knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards) and closed-toe footwear with non-slip soles.
  • Check before each use: handlebars secure, screws and fasteners tightened, folding mechanism locked, wheels and brake in good condition, deck clean and grippy.
  • Adjust the scooter to the child’s size according to the manufacturer’s instructions; avoid handlebars that are too high or too low.
  • Ride in smooth, dry, clear areas, away from traffic; avoid stairs, steep slopes, kerbs, puddles and polished surfaces.
  • Keep both hands on the handlebars and your eyes ahead; control your speed and leave space to brake in good time.
  • Teach them to step off the scooter to get over kerbs or uneven areas.
  • Keep fingers away from moving wheels and brake; do not touch the mudguard immediately after hard braking.
  • Do not perform jumps, stunts or sharp turns; a children’s scooter is not designed for tricks.
  • Do not use headphones or mobile phones while riding.
  • Avoid using it in low light; if unavoidable, increase the child’s visibility with reflective accessories and close supervision.

Storage and maintenance

  • Periodically check for play, cracks or loose parts; stop using the scooter if you notice any damage.
  • Check wheel and brake wear; replace them when cracked, deformed or heavily worn.
  • Ensure the grips do not rotate or come off.
  • Clean off dust, sand and mud after each use; dry thoroughly if it gets wet to prevent corrosion and loss of braking effectiveness.
  • Avoid applying oils or lubricants to the deck or the wheel tread to prevent reduced grip.
  • Store the scooter indoors, in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Transport the scooter folded with the folding lock engaged to prevent accidental openings.
  • Use only compatible parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

Restrictions on use

  • One child per scooter only; do not carry passengers or bulky items that could destabilise it.
  • Observe the age, height and weight limits stated by the manufacturer.
  • Use under adult supervision, especially for younger children or beginners.
  • Do not use near roads, garage entrances or moving vehicles.
  • Do not use in rain, snow, ice or on wet or very slippery surfaces.
  • Do not allow the child to handle the folding mechanism without adult help.
  • Do not tow or be towed by bicycles or other vehicles; do not hold onto ropes.
  • Do not modify the scooter or fit accessories that could snag or interfere with control.
  • Do not use while wearing sandals, flip-flops or with laces undone.
