Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Freestanding coat racks tipping over due to unbalanced loads, pushing or pulling.
- Product or garments falling due to poor fixing to a wall or door, or due to overloading.
- Bumps or cuts from hooks and protrusions, especially in walkways and at head height.
- Finger entrapment in hinged or folding parts.
- Trips or obstruction of doors and corridors if placed in thoroughfares.
- Damage to walls, doors or floors due to inadequate fixings, excessive weight, or dripping from wet garments.
- Risk to children and pets from climbing or hanging on it, which may cause the unit to fall.
Safe use
- Assemble and fix the product according to the instructions, using fixings suitable for the wall or door material. Check it is secure and without any play.
- For freestanding racks, place them on a flat, stable surface; distribute the weight evenly.
- Observe the maximum load stated for the product and avoid concentrating too much weight on a single hook.
- If it is an over-the-door model, check that the door opens and closes freely and is neither obstructed nor rubbing.
- Position it away from critical walkways and at a height that does not pose a risk of impact; allow sufficient clearance for the door swing.
- Keep it away from heat sources and excessive moisture/high humidity that could deteriorate materials or fixings.
- With wet garments, wring them out first and place a mat or tray to catch drips and prevent slipping.
- Avoid leaving cords, straps or belts hanging at small children’s height where they could become snagged.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp; avoid abrasive products that could damage the finish.
- Dry surfaces if they get wet to prevent corrosion, swelling or loss of adhesion in fixings.
- Periodically check screws, hooks and fixings; retighten or replace any that are loose or worn.
- Check the condition of the wall or door where it is fixed. If you notice cracks, looseness or deformation, relocate or reinforce the installation.
- For models with adhesive fixing, ensure the surface is clean and sound; renew the fixing if it loses adhesion.
- Remove the product from use if it shows cracks, bends or instability, until it is repaired or replaced.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use as a ladder, exercise bar or anchoring point for loads.
- Do not allow children to hang from, climb or play with the coat rack or valet stand; supervise whenever children are nearby.
- Do not fix to fragile or unstable surfaces that cannot support the intended load.
- Do not position where it blocks exits, corridors, switches or the full swing of a door.
- Do not use outdoors or in areas with high condensation unless the product is designed for it.
- Do not exceed a reasonable number of garments for its size, nor hang very heavy objects, or items that are sharp or have edges that could damage the product or cause injury.
- Do not modify by drilling or adding hooks not intended for it, as this may compromise its stability.
