Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Slips due to the presence of water, moisture or residues of cleaning products.
  • Trips caused by loose planks, raised edges or poorly fixed transition profiles.
  • Cuts and splinters when handling or cutting the planks.
  • Inhalation of dust and particles when making cuts or on-site adjustments.
  • Swelling, warping or joint separation due to leaks, frequent spills or cleaning with excessive water or steam.
  • Scratches and dents caused by sand, grit, unprotected furniture feet, hard castors or dragging heavy objects.
  • Damage from localised heat (heaters, embers, hot plant pots) or sudden temperature changes.
  • Discolouration or colour changes due to intense, prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Safe use

  • Before installation, ensure the subfloor is dry, clean and reasonably level to avoid instability and noise.
  • Acclimatise the packs in the room for the time recommended by the manufacturer.
  • When cutting or trimming pieces, wear eye protection, gloves and a mask, and work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Clean up any spills immediately and avoid prolonged standing water.
  • Use entrance mats at doorways, protect furniture feet with felt pads and use soft castors on chairs and equipment.
  • Do not drag furniture or appliances; lift them or use moving aids.
  • Clean with a dust mop or a vacuum with a soft brush; for mopping, use a well-wrung cloth and mild, suitable cleaners, avoiding abrasive products or waxes.
  • Avoid steam mops and direct exposure to intense heat sources.
  • With underfloor heating, adjust the temperature gradually and follow the flooring manufacturer's instructions.
  • Follow the manufacturer's recommendations regarding joints, transitions and expansion gaps.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store packs sealed, horizontally, indoors in a dry place and on a flat surface, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Avoid storing near heat sources or in places with sudden temperature changes.
  • Acclimatise the material in the installation room as directed by the manufacturer.
  • During renovations, protect the floor with clean, breathable coverings to prevent abrasion and moisture build-up.
  • Carry out regular cleaning to remove dust, sand and small stones that could scratch.
  • For minor defects, use repair kits compatible with laminate flooring; replace pieces that are badly damaged.
  • Do not varnish, wax or polish the laminate; these treatments are not suitable for this type of surface.
  • Periodically check joints, profiles and high-traffic areas for lifting or gaps.

Restrictions on use

  • Not suitable for outdoors or for areas with continuous moisture or standing water (showers, saunas, uncovered terraces).
  • Do not install over substrates with visible moisture, active leaks or that are not completely dry.
  • Avoid steam or high-pressure cleaning.
  • Do not expose the floor to embers, flames, very hot objects or lit cigarettes.
  • Do not fix items by passing screws, nails or plugs through the floor; this can damage it and prevent expansion.
  • Avoid extreme point loads and impacts from hard objects; use appropriate protection if placing very heavy furniture.
  • In homes with children, older people or reduced mobility, keep the floor dry and secure rugs with non-slip underlays.
  • The presence of pets requires keeping nails trimmed and promptly cleaning urine or spills to prevent damage.
