Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Impacts, trapped fingers and cuts when handling doors, drawers or edges during assembly.
- Tipping of the unit or movement of the sink if it is not level or correctly secured.
- Breakage of the sink or falling objects due to overloading or using it for support.
- Water leaks that may cause slips, damp and mould, or damage nearby items, including sockets and appliances.
- Burns from very hot water and splashes.
- Blockages, bad odours and backflow due to improper use of the drain.
- Exposure to irritating or corrosive cleaning products stored in the unit.
Safe use
- Install the assembly on a level surface and, where applicable, secure the unit and/or the sink in line with the manufacturer’s instructions and the wall type.
- After installation, check there are no leaks at connections and the trap; inspect periodically and tighten any loose joints if necessary.
- Do not sit, stand or hang on the sink or the unit; distribute the weight of any items you place on them and avoid impacts.
- Do not leave the tap running unattended; if the product has an overflow, do not block it.
- Control the temperature: open the cold water first and avoid pouring boiling water directly; mix with cold water to reduce splashes and thermal shock.
- Wipe up any water on the floor immediately to prevent slips; consider a non-slip mat in wet areas.
- Keep appliances and sockets away from splashes; do not handle electrical items with wet hands.
- Wear gloves and ventilate when handling bleach, descalers or other chemicals; do not mix them.
- Do not pour oils, paints, solvents or solids down the drain; use a strainer or filter if applicable and clean it regularly.
- Avoid drilling or modifying the unit or the sink in areas where pipes or cables may run.
Storage and maintenance
- Keep cleaning products in their original containers, well closed, labelled and out of the reach of children.
- Do not overload shelves or drawers; distribute the weight and leave access to the trap and the isolation valves.
- Dry surfaces and joints after use to reduce moisture, material swelling and the formation of mould.
- Clean with a soft cloth and a neutral detergent; avoid abrasive scouring pads, concentrated acids or solvents that may damage the surfaces.
- Periodically descale the tap aerator and the drain where applicable; remove debris and clean the filter or strainer.
- Check silicone seals, gaskets and the trap; replace them if you notice cracks, bad odours or leaks.
- From time to time, check the level, the feet and the wall fixings, and tighten them if necessary.
- In unheated spaces, protect the pipes and the trap against frost.
Restrictions on use
- Do not use as a step, seat or anchorage point to support body weight.
- Not suitable for excessive loads or intensive industrial use unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not mix or decant chemicals inside the unit or on the sink.
- Do not wash food or kitchen utensils if the sink is used for tasks involving chemicals or dirty materials.
- Keep children and pets away from the sink area and the inside of the unit; supervision is required when taps are accessible.
- If you detect a leak, close the isolation valves and avoid using the assembly until the issue has been resolved.
